Emmanuel Dennis faces an uncertain future following Istanbul Basaksehir’s decision against securing him on a permanent contract after a loan spell from Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest.
The 26-year-old forward moved to Istanbul Basaksehir on a season-long loan deal at the start of the season. However, he has encountered challenges in leaving a mark at the former Turkish Super Lig champions.
Despite his versatility, Dennis struggled to make an impact, featuring in only eight league games without contributing a goal or an assist for Basaksehir. Moreover, the Nigerian striker has been grappling with injuries since his arrival under manager Cagdas Atan’s tenure.
Named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Dennis faced setbacks that hindered his performance on the field. With Basaksehir opting against a permanent deal, Dennis is anticipated to return to Nottingham Forest at the conclusion of his loan spell next summer.
