The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE’s General Commission has disclosed plans for its 9th edition conference to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from April 17 to 21, 2024.
In an announcement by the General Commissioner, CEO of ACTUROUTES, Mr. Barthélemy Kouame, the event’s theme, “Quality of road infrastructure and development in Africa,” aims to gather decision-makers, project owners, donors, and operators across the African regions.
The commission has opened a call for presentations, urging partners, entities, or experts interested in sharing insights to contribute. Moreover, it encourages companies and institutions working in Africa to showcase their notable achievements in road and transport for consideration in the ‘Builder Trophy’ awards.
In line with tradition, the Super Prize Great Builder – Babacar NDIAYE Trophy will honor an African Head of State whose country has shown notable advancements in line with the conference’s theme. The laureates will be announced during the AfDB Annual Meetings in Nairobi, Kenya, in May 2024.
The commission also plans to propose a Special Prize for the United Arab Emirates’ authorities for their achievements in roads and transport. The General Commission anticipates that the conference in Dubai will be influential and foster concrete development for Africa, leveraging the city’s symbolization of progress in transportation.
The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE event, initiated in 2016, is endorsed by the African Development Bank and President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, drawing inspiration from the 5th President of the AfDB, Dr. Babacar NDIAYE.
